This week i will be attending a funeral & im stuck on whats the appropriate thing to wear. Its going to be in compton c.a so the weather is going to be really hot. I dont wanna go too dressed up and i also dont wanna go in my casual shorts and a t-shirt. Please help. Thanks.

A below the knees skirt is appropriate but the light cotton will keep you cool. Bright shoes keep you from looking too somber.
Black is good for a funeral.. but it attracts heat.. and is formal..

In this day and age, black is not required, but good taste and regard for the deceased and his/her family is! Casual shorts and a T-shirt is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE! A dress, or skirt and blouse, or tailored slacks and blouse (conservative), or pant suit are OK. Bright/loud colors are not OK, but muted tasteful colors are. (In some cultures red is the color of mourning, not black. In others, it’s white.)

Just remember the rule of thumb when it comes to funerals and fashions…all the eyes will be on the dearly departed, as long as the deceased looks good, it really doesn’t matter what you look like. It’s not a fashion show.

I’m going to a funeral myself, on Sunday.
This is what I’m wearing:
black tank
black cover up (it’s kinda see through, which is why I’m wearing the tank)
black leggings
black flats with a bow
silver necklace with a heart
My hair is going to be curled, but I tie a bit back, and my bangs are to the side.
really the only thing you can do is dress up it just is respectful you gotta do what you gotta do
The key is too buy natural fabrics which can breathe. Polyesters and acrylics are no good as they are unnatural fabrics which will just block off the air. Try to invest in cottons, linens, cashmere, wool, ramie and jute. Natural fibres like these, yes they are considered luxuries and will cost just that little bit extra, except it will be worth it as they are investments pieces which you can keep for a life time.
For a funeral try something sophisticated yet relaxed-think Armani. Yes I understand Armani is not in everyone’s budget-I myself cant afford it however you can recreate the look for a much lower price.
