@TheWeirdCartoons Maybe? they just dislike the video itself and not the singers or the memorial? :/
god knows how ELEVEN people disliked a memorial service – and a beautiful, touching? one at that. Honestly, that’s just disgusting. Here are these people mourning the loss of a husband, father, artist and friend. Sure, dislike his work but that’s a completely different discussion – this is a group of talented performers singing a beautiful song at a memorial service – nothing at all to dislike – to do that is just soulless.
@pika23 I have a feeling the performers of the other big names (Fozzie, Gonzo, etc) were too broken up to carry the? song. You can see them comforting each other before it’s their turn to sing.
Every single? person in the whole wide world needs to watch this video at least once.
@BerkeleyBuilt more like Rowlf’s. he was the very first muppet before kermit, and friends of jim said his laid back personality was closer to jim’s than kermits was. in fact, after he passed in 1990 Rolf? didn’t have another speaking role until 2001 out of respect.
It was beautiful and all….but why start with Scooter and Fraggles? I guess the tones in the song were for those? type voices…..thumbs me down if you wish, but it’s just an observation I made….
This is one of? the most heatbreaking/warming things I have ever seen.
Basically Kermit’s funeral? too.
It just looks like the people are holding them up to the mike to? sing better… :)
@Lenoh? Yeah, he’s the subject of a great, great documentary called Being Elmo. His name is Kevin Clash.
I know? I’m gonna get downvoted for this, but Jim didn’t have to die. All he had to do was get his pneumonia checked out, and he very likely would have been fine.
At the very least he died doing what he loved.
Rest in peace. We miss you, Jim.
TIL a? black guy voices (voiced?) Elmo
This song makes me both happy and sad at the same time. It’s an indescribable feeling that comes up every time I hear this song. Half of me says “It’s sad because they’re saying goodbye.” but the other half says “It’s happy because they believe in him, and I’m sure he believed in them, too. Maybe? even everyone.” It truly is hard to explain, but I think you get kind of the picture…
11 people don’t believe? in me.
This both breaks my heart and warms it at? the same time. Thank you for sharing this JoesGunnaKillYou.
11 people have no? respect
Another tragedy happened a year after Mr. Henson? died, Richard Hunt, the man seen here who did Scooter’s voice died tragically after a long battle with AIDS
I sobbed a river watching this?
The muppets scare me, I have to admit it. I was a Sesame Street person. But this is still so cool. And heartwarming. And? sad at the same time… Oh there’s Elmo!
My mom walked in while my waterfall was on. I don’t? even care. Who would dislike this?
I was only 12 when Jim died. At the time, I didn’t really understand the impact he had (and would continue to have) on our world. Now? as an adult, I’m amazed by the scope of his influence, and his creative genius.
Also, I cried my face off watching this…
Brought chills. Really? miss this guy…
It’s funny, but even when you can? see them being operated by their puppeteers, the muppets still seem so real.
