@Gekitatsu Life is just a physical,chemical existence. The Bible doesn’t claim it to be anything more than that.
Hi Penn fans. Penn Says videos have been discontinued, so you won’t be seeing any new content on here. You can check out our Profile on our Channel Page for more info. We’ll still be checking in, so hope to keep chatting with you all! Thanks!
Penn J. J. Christ,,,works for me!
I throughly enjoy Penn’s commentary. I am not an Atheist, he can say there’s no god. But I still enjoy his perspective
I got an off the record comment from a Whoopi G. stating that “Penn Jillette is a rock-and-roll sex god!”
Hey, you stole my joke! :P
Doesn’t God help those who help themselves? I’m all for sharing love with people, provided it’s wanted and respected that religions are not for everyone.
The problem is that so many times that it is “Join our church or burn in hell.”
I choose to lead as good of a life as I am able. I figure if god exists they will understand that I am trying to be a good person even if I dont worship them directly.
If god is vengeful or otherwise does not exist at least I will not have wasted my life.
@Bearfoot Nice. :-)
If anyone approaches me and talks about “revealing himself”, I’m likely to turn around and walk away.
I do respect you and your belief system of not believing…but the bottom line is, IF someone believes that exiting this earth will make others, friends, loved ones etc. begin to think about what comes next, why wouldn’t that be a good time to say “If you dont know for sure whats next, can I pray and ask God to reveal himself to you” what is the worst thing that can come from that. Besides 2 minutes of your time. If they’re right, you would be eternally grateful and wanting to tell others! =)
I have had a suspicion that James Randi has been deceased for at least six months and using a stock pile of footage and essays that had been unpublished continues to make it appear as though he is producing new material.(like Brian O’blivion in Videodrome sorta)
As for TAM that’s an android you see.
I love your laugh Penn. I simply do
If English is your first language, your teachers totally failed you, man….I am sorry. Do us all a favor and crack open a dictionary before posting next time.
At an atheist funnel you do what your suppose to do. Respect the person who died. Bury them, and mourn your loss. Their gone they didn’t go anywhere except the ground. Be an adult and accept the reality instead of believe in stories of heaven. Don’t shroud their death with made up stories to make yourself feel better. Which all it really is. You feel better knowing their is something blah blah blah when you don’t actually know.
Screw you! I’ve seen violence and I’m still an atheist. The bullets hit or they don’t. War is madness and who dies and who lives proves chaos over some god.
You know what I want people to say at my funeral?
HOLY SHIT HE”S ALIVE!
:)
this is exactly why I want to do what my grandomther did.
She had no fuenral at all, she didnt want people sad over her. WE had a wake. Within a literal hour of her death we all were drunk.
PENN you r the real deal dude i love it man thank you for making me feel not alone with my views and thoughts your shit is so cool! dave from marlboro ma peace out yo LOL word up…. im 45 and just cant stop smiling when i here you and saying yup yup exactly …. thanks
I am Falconer X
God bless you Penn J. :)
u are totally right. the same thing happen at a baptist funeral i went to.
I went to Baptist church funeral and they don’t give a shit about the dead and respecting them. They turn it into a way of changing people into what they want you to believe. Funerals should be for remembrance of the person and not a religious or political view to be push upon others. Most of the people there were catholic but because the deceased wanted it there we had it there BTW
I am incredibly ambivalent about this.
The part of me that spent a decade studying anthropology thinks that funerals are about those left behind. And in multicultural USA using a sad emotional moment to sell a belief system is incredibly rude at best.
The libertarian in me thinks the funeral is about the decedant and that his beliefs should reign. If he would want to use his funeral to convert friends and family, that’s his right.
Long way of saying I got no answer.
@Jentzi1
The “why we´re better than atheists” speech is actually really common, In my experience around 50%. Churches assume too much.
Penn, there is a really good chance that my wife will ask someone to read parts of your “This I Believe” from NPR at my funeral, so you’re kind of invited. Of course, in the natural course of things, you should predecease me by about 20 years or so, so I’ll understand if you have to send your regrets.
